To keep up with dance camp’s growth, the previous counselor/instructor program has evolved into the following.  Please read everything carefully before applying.

• Available positions are in direct portion to camp size.

• Offers/Acceptances will be emailed out by May 15, 2025.

Counselor

Criteria

• 15 years old by September 1st. 

• Has attended LSoD SDC as a full-time camper a minimum of 1 year.

• Is registered as a 2025 LSoD SDC full-time camper.

• Has a friendly, fun & energetic personality.

• Has leadership qualities and works well with all ages.

• Has a minimum of 4 years dance experience and currently in advanced level classes.

• Recommend individual are part of a studio helper/assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Available to attend the mandatory camp staff training (Tuesday prior to camp). 

• Oversee & help fellow campers.

• Assist camp staff with set up, ice breakers, games, crafts, activities, warm up/dance classes, show preparation, campfire, pack up and more.

• Counselors will attend camp dance classes & preform in the show.

Compensation

• Camp Staff Shirt & Gifts

• LSoD SDC Train Day: Meals/Housing/Training/Classes (Value $150.00)

Teacher Assistant

Criteria

• 17 years old by September 1st. 

• Has attended LSoD SDC as a full-time camper for a minimum of 2 years.  

• Is registered as a 2025 LSoD SDC full time camper.

• Has a friendly, fun & energetic personality.

• Has leadership qualities and works well with all ages.

• Has a minimum of 3 years dance experience in advanced level classes. 

• Is part of a studio teaching program for a minimum of 2 year.

• Has attended dance education program(s) that include pedagogy classes. 

• Has experience in creating a dance lesson plan & executing it.

• Has choreography experience.

Responsibilities

• Available to attend the mandatory camp staff training (Tuesday prior to camp).

• Work with a camp instructor on creating & executing a dance lesson plan.

• Assist camp staff with set up, ice breakers, games, crafts, activities, warm up/dance classes, show preparation, campfire, pack up and more.

• Oversee 1 or more counselor.

• Responsible for Paper Plate Awards.

• Teacher assistants will attend dance classes & perform in the show.

Compensation

• LSoD SDC Train Day: Meals/Housing/Training/Classes (Value $150.00) 

• $75.00 off full-time camp program fee.

Instructor

Criteria

• 19 years old by September 1st. 

• High School Graduate & above.

• Has a friendly, fun & energetic personality.

• Has leadership qualities and works well with all ages.

• Has a minimum of 5 years dance experience in advanced level classes & higher.

• Has experience as a dance instructor forages 4 years and older.

Responsibilities

• Available to attend the mandatory camp staff training (Tuesday prior to camp) 

• Teaching 1 or more dance classes.

• Choreography 1 or more numbers for the show.

• Oversee & work with 1 ore more teacher assistant.

• Assist with camp set up, ice breakers, games, crafts, activities, warm up/dance classes, show preparation, pack up and more.

Positions 

• Full-Time Instructor

• Part-Time Instructor

• Contracts & compensation are done on an individual bases.
