2026 Leslie School of Dance Summer Dance Camp (LSoD SDC) / Staff Positions

• Available positions are in direct portion to camp size

• Offers/Acceptances will be emailed out by May 15, 2026.

Junior Counselor 

Criteria

• 13 years old by September 1st

• Has attended LSoD SDC as a full-time camper a minimum of 1 year

• Is registered as a 2026 LSoD SDC full-time camper

• Has a friendly, fun & energetic personality

• Has leadership qualities and works well with all ages

• Has a minimum of 4 years dance experience

Responsibilities

• Available to check in on Tuesday (day prior to camp) @ 12:00 noon

• Oversee & help fellow campers

• Assist camp staff with set up, ice breakers, games, crafts, activities, show preparation, campfire, pack up and more

• Junior counselors will attend camp dance classes & perform in the show

Compensation

• Camp Staff Shirt & Gifts

• Tuesday – Wednesday Expenses:  Meals/Housing (value $75.00)

• $25.00 off full-time camp program fee

Counselor

Criteria

• 15 years old by September 1st

• Has attended LSoD SDC as a full-time camper a minimum of 2 years

• Is registered as a 2026 LSoD SDC full-time camper

• Has a friendly, fun & energetic personality

• Has leadership qualities and works well with all ages

• Has a minimum of 4 years dance experience and currently in advanced level classes

• Highly recommended for students to be enrolled in a studio helper/assistant program

Responsibilities

• Available to check in on Tuesday (day prior to camp) @ 12:00 noon

• Oversee & help fellow campers

• Assist camp staff with set up, ice breakers, games, crafts, activities, warm up/dance classes, show preparation, campfire, pack up and more

• Assists younger campers with daily organization and final departure packing 

• Assist with Paper Plate Awards

• Counselors will attend camp dance classes & preform in the show

Compensation

• Camp Staff Shirt & Gifts

• $50.00 off full-time camp program fee

Teacher Assistant

Criteria

• 17 years old by September 1st

• Has attended LSoD SDC as a full-time camper for a minimum of 3 years

• Is registered as a 2026 LSoD SDC full time camper

• Has a friendly, fun & energetic personality

• Has leadership qualities and works well with all ages

• Has a minimum of 3 years dance experience in advanced level classes

• Is part of a studio teaching program for a minimum of 2 year

• Has attended dance education program(s) that include pedagogy classes

• Has experience in creating a dance lesson plan & executing it

• Has choreography experience

Responsibilities

• Available to check in on Tuesday (day prior to camp) @ 12:00 noon

• Partner with camp director on creating a lesson plan & choreography a piece for the show

• Assist camp staff with set up, ice breakers, games, crafts, activities, warm up/dance classes, show preparation, campfire, pack up and more

• Oversee 1 or more counselor(s)

• Responsible for Paper Plate Awards

• Teacher assistants will attend dance classes & perform in the show

Compensation

Instructor

Criteria

• 19 years old by September 1st

• High School Graduate & above

• Has a friendly, fun & energetic personality

• Has leadership qualities and works well with all ages

• Has a minimum of 5 years dance experience in advanced level classes & higher

• Has experience as a dance instructor for ages 4 years and older

Responsibilities

• Teaching 1 or more dance classes

• Choreography 1 or more numbers for the show

• Oversee & work with 1 or more teacher assistant

• Assist with camp set up, ice breakers, games, crafts, activities, warm up/dance classes, show preparation, pack up and more

• Responsible for judging the camp door decorating contest
